Welcome to our new location!
Great news! New Horizons of Houston has moved to a gleaming, high tech, brand new facility in the Galleria area! We have only moved 4 blocks away (from Sage @ San Felipe to Sage @ Woodway), but the impact is HUGE. As we’ve continued our annual double digit growth, we simply could not continue in our limited and inconvenient former space, so we now call the "Decorative Center Houston" home.
New Horizons commissioned the construction of a state of the art facility with polished concrete floors, chrome and glass fixtures, wireless networking, new computers, new flat panel monitors and brand new leather student chairs (thanks for the idea, Southwest Airlines!). Our space will be modern, clean and inviting. There will be no more security desk to contend with and best of all – FREE parking! We can’t wait for you to see it all!
Take a look at a few of the images we have of the Decorative Center and it’s beautiful interior! This is a first class facility all the way with lunch service available in the building. We look forward to 10 more years of remaining Houston’s best training center as listed in the Houston Business Journal’s Book of Lists. Let us know how we can continue to serve you and your employees in your knowledge transfer needs!

IT Industry Experiences Growth

IT Industry Experiences Growth Despite Economy Woes
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Grassroots Newswire)-- While many U.S. job seekers are struggling to find employment, and workers can attest that it’s a tough economy to work in, industry experts say that certain sectors – like information technology (IT) – are experiencing growth and moving along this economic rollercoaster headstrong.
According to the 2009 Robert Half International Salary Guide, information technology (IT) is one of the few bright spots in the job market, and remains relatively low in unemployment ranks (less than 2 percent), which can be attributed to the proliferation of new technology and the need for professionals to support new technological initiatives.
According to an Employment Projections Report for 2006–2016 from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the IT industry is among the top in projected wage and salary employment growth. The report projected computer software engineers would see a 44 percent employment growth; and network systems and data communications analysts would see a 53 percent employment growth.
"Information technology is different from other fields. In today's tough economy, companies want to keep their business both growing and running as cost efficiently as possible – and that means enhancing applications and infrastructure," said Mark Miller, president and CEO of New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, the world's largest independent IT training provider. "IT is unique because often times it can help fuel a company's expansion, services and margin enhancement."
"As witnessed by these recent reports, companies focused on an approach utilizing information technology are a significant component in many markets, and IT departments within these businesses are at the core of their operation," Miller said. "New Horizons contributes to the growing productivity of IT with its integrated learning methodology used to train technology solutions to businesses and individuals in the local community and around the world."
New Horizons delivers a range of technical, application and business skills training, ranging from basic application and desktop productivity tools like Microsoft Office to complex and integrated business systems, such as Cisco, information security, ITIL and virtualization.
"We regularly hear testimonials about how people are accomplishing more than just learning the latest technologies at New Horizons," Miller said. "It is true that our customers' success is accomplished through training, but the foundation of New Horizons is based on inspiring students, and companies, to become more productive and successful in their daily activities. Knowledge transfer is enhanced by engaging the learner in real work – real life situations. Confidence comes from learning, knowing and applying."
About New Horizons:
Since it was founded in 1982, New Horizons has launched 300 centers in 60 countries and has become the largest independent IT training company in the world. New Horizons has delivered a full range of technology and business skills training over the past 25 years through innovative learning methods that have transformed businesses and helped over 25 million students reach their goals. - Forrester Research Inc. predicts a 2 -3 percent growth in tech spending this year, followed by an increase of up to 10 percent in 2009.

Customer Testimonial
Scott,
I’m writing this letter to let you know how pleased I have been with my experiences while attending classes at New Horizons.
Your facility is clean and well maintained, and I enjoy the fruit and bagels that are provided in the break room.
The MCSE track I am on is a lengthy process, the instructors that are at New Horizons are extremely knowledgeable and very approachable, there is a lot of information that is covered in these classes, and the instructors have done a great job teaching the subject matter and keeping the class moving along smoothly.
Scott you have been very helpful and accommodating, providing me with everything I have needed while pursuing my MCSE, I would recommend New Horizons to anyone who is trying to improve there computer skills at whatever level.
I have found the training I’ve received at New Horizons to be well worth the money and my time.
Sincerely,
John S. Senneff
